A hospital with which people of all ages feel familiar
The exterior of the building was designed to position the ward staff stations and dining room in the central part of the building, and the wards in both wings so as to appear like two widely open arms to warmly welcome people, and adopted finishing colors to harmonize with the blue sky and lush greenery of Izu. As for the building’s composition, consultation rooms and administrative office rooms are set on the 1st floor, psychiatric care rooms on the 2nd to 5th floors, and a psychiatric general ward capable of psychiatric emergency treatment for the community on the 6th floor. On the ward floors, various spaces composed of group units were planned for encouraging the gradual rehabilitation of patients in society, in an effort to design wards where people may feel released, happy, and comfortable.
