A new building constructed on the existing site

In order to reconstruct an entire building at one time, despite the peculiar conditions of the existing building and waterways surrounding the site, a plan was made to set the wards with one nursing unit on each floor of the new building. We secured the best care environment possible on the compact floor space, such as adopting a bed arrangement giving the impression of quasi-private rooms in each room containing four beds on the south side of the building. Lounges are also to be provided next to the light court spaces where patients and visitors can relax. And to help the staff more easily attend to patients, the plan regarded each entire corridor as a nurse station, and had satellite counters placed at the end of each ward.
