Aiming to achieve a healthy and safe living environment
Due to deterioration of the original institute, it was relocated to the site of a former factory in Chigasaki City where improvements were made. Part of the original building was repaired and utilized as the administrative building, and a new research building was constructed as an extension. The research building adopted a seismic isolation structure to ensure the safety of the researchers, and also prevent the leakage of chemicals and disease-causing bacteria into the surrounding areas. The square courtyard surrounded by buildings allows facility pipes and ducts to be freely arranged, and the setting of a carrying-in/out entrance for goods and experimental animals on the ground floor, thereby effectively interrupting the line of sight from outside and ensuring security.
