An urban-style hospital full of natural light
The plan is to reconstruct a clinic that has been familiar in the community for a long time. The new building will provide consultation and treatment space on the 1st and 2nd floors, with the owner’s residence being set on the 3rd and 4th floors. Located in a commercial district surrounded by high buildings, the building will take in natural light down to the waiting hall with a top light set above the open ceiling part. In order to balance the clinic that will treat an unspecified large number of outpatients with the dedicated dwelling house where privacy must be secured, common use of the elevator was considered, while clearly separating the traffic lines of both approaches. The contrast of the curtain wall covering the staircase and the tiled exterior wall without an opening gives a special presence to the building’s appearance.
