An extension plan for a large hospital to further enrich highly advanced medical treatment
The Itabashi Chuo Medical Center is a base hospital of the IMS Group that observes the basic principle of “IMS that loves and is loved in return.” Its extension plan is intended to further enrich the hospital’s highly advanced medical treatment capability with a radiotherapy center equipped with the CyberKnife system, linear accelerator, and other advanced equipment laid out on the basement floor, a consultation and treatment department for outpatients, and an endoscopic room on the ground floor. Since the hospital consists of seven interconnected buildings, the design work was conducted to impart a sense of unity when viewed from the street. While trying to create a design matching images of the E Wing that forms the main entrance and the adjacent F Wing, we designed the exterior of the G Wing to express its own character.
