Three facilities working as one to continue supporting health of community residents from users' point of view
The three facilities, i.e., Miyakonojo Medical Association Hospital, Miyakonojo Night Emergency Care Center, and Miyakonojo Health Service Center, have been operating as an emergency medical care system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year continuously since their opening in 1985 and played a role of supplying safe and secure medical care to and promoting health of residents in the Miyakonojo and Kita Morokata region and its vicinity. Recently, the problems of deterioration and insufficient space of the facilities and maldistribution of areas due to municipal merger have manifested themselves. For functional enhancement of wide-area high emergency medical care bases and improvement of wide-area access, the "Miyakonojo Region Health and Medical Care Zone Improvement Project" was implemented to relocate these three facilities. The design was promoted by three parties, the Association of Doctors in Miyakonojo and Kita Morokata County, Miyakonojo City, and Mimata Town in Kita Morokata County, and designer, to realize construction of a new-age hospital appropriate for the 21st century.
