A campus plan extending into a valley
This is a campus plan for a medical university on a broad site that extends into a valley in the suburbs of Kitakyushu. Utilizing the natural geological features of the site, the campus was divided into two large portions by function—the dwelling and welfare zone and the medical care, education and study zone—with the central flood control basin situated between both zones. The buildings were arranged in consideration of future extensions, and their exteriors were made in harmony with the surrounding nature, using calm colors that suit a university.
