A hospital where people can revitalize communications and feel comfortable working
In an effort to create a hospital that enables people to revitalize various levels of communications such as contacts among patients, between patients and staff members, among staff members, or “between nature and people,” we planned to make the wards full of light and vigor for encouraging interpersonal communication by laying out four light courts and chatting space at the center of each ward, and a patients’ lounge at both east and west ends of the ward floors. A staff lounge and a library corner are also set up near the “vertical staff stations” where a staircase used exclusively by the staff runs through the center of the building, in order to secure efficient lines of traffic for the staff and for their convenience and communications.
