A school building plan for fostering human resources to support community health care
Two nursing schools that have produced 10,000 graduates in the past were integrated into one, and newly redeveloped as Sendai Medical Association Nursing School. With the keywords of “neatness” and “dignity,” the new school building was designed to have a gently curved surface on its northwest side forming the front exterior, and a “students’ hall” on each floor as an open ceiling space for common use. The lecture hall and gymnasium with a capacity of 300 persons is equipped with a radiation-type air-conditioning system in preparation for winter. The variation of sign colors clearly identifies different floors, while aiming to revitalize and enrich the site of student life.
