Flagship facility of a campus ground design: Succession of traditions and a symbol of innovative spirit
This building has realized four concepts: (1) Symbolic architecture suitable for the 125th anniversary of Nihon University: The building rises toward the sky, expressing a sense of security and reliability in succeeding the original law school design, as well as adopting the university’s traditional design source of symmetry and brickwork. The ribs on its facade symbolize an innovative spirit. (2) An innovative urban-style acute phase hospital: The function of a center specializing in lifestyle-related diseases and separately integrated for each internal organ and ailment is realized with easy to understand zoning. A plan that recognizes new medical markets such as medical tourism and membership systems. (3) Sufficient amenities prepared from the viewpoints of patients and hospital staff: Various types of waiting space (e.g. welcome hall, open lounge) for patients are secured, thereby enriching convenient facilities and relaxing space. (4) Adequate preparatory facilities for possible disasters and devices that save energy and reduce CO2 emissions: Special high voltage power reception by a duplicated service, introduction of regional air-conditioning facilities, and installation of solar panels.
