A maternity hospital in the style of a resort hotel in southern France
The site of the hospital on a hill near Wakabadai Station on the Keio Line has a commanding view of a forest full of greenery. Belier means “sheep” in French, and plans were made to build a maternity hospital that looks like a resort hotel located on a hill in southern France where sheep calmly graze amid a brightly sunlit atmosphere. The south side of the building (which can be seen from the train windows) was designed to express the image of a cafe terrace facade in the shape of rhythmical steps. The north side was designed to have a gentle, elegant and simple look. The main concept of “delivery in the presence of family members” provides spacey accommodations for family members, coupled with an integrated sense of a high-class hotel room and natural texture. The entire building gives the hotel a sense of quality with its natural, warm materials used at many portions.
