Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital

Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital

Redevelopment under four themes of medical care: heart disease, respiratory illness, emergencies, and small islands

In line with the purport of the basic policy formulated in 1967 for improving metropolitan hospitals, this hospital was redeveloped to provide advanced medical services focused on the four themes of medical care stated above. Two ward units (each housing 42 sickbeds for each nursing unit) are arranged in a flying geese (inverted V) pattern, and atop the building, a heliport is laid to provide medical services to small islands, such as the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands, with a dedicated elevator leading to inside of the hospital.
