A garden hospital pursuing natural relaxation
Plans were made to build an “open” garden hospital integrated with the adjacent park. Under the theme of “natural relaxation,” we tried to create a “healing environment” by setting inside and outside the building a number of promenades, roof gardens, art gardens, formal gardens, a restaurant and a day room commanding a view of fine scenery, and other elements that would make both patients and staff feel relaxed. We also tried to make the building friendly and easy to use by incorporating a way-finding system based on a series of lights and wall colors.
