A hospital where all waiting rooms take in natural light
A hospital specializing in cancer and covering a medical care sphere that includes the prefectures in Shikoku and those along the Inland Sea. Under the slogan of “All is for patients,” the plan considers amenities for patients who face treatment. Almost all departments for outpatients (i.e. reception, examination, treatment) are set on a single floor, and all waiting rooms there take in natural light. Each room for patients is equipped with four beds to give the impression of private rooms, and a roof garden is laid out above the palliative care unit. The structure was planned to have flexibility by constructing a large-span (17m) precast pre-stressed concrete structure.
